This category contains Kings of the Nation of Israel who were anointed by God (Saul and David) or received the position, hereditarily (every king after David, except for Ish-Bosheth who was illegally short period before David). This category does not include Kings of Judah, as the nation of Judah split from Israel. This category also excludes God and Jesus Christ who are symbolically (and literally) King of Israel, however were not the human king Israel wanted. The Kings of Israel includes both pre-split kings, and post-split kings (when Israel was often called Samaria). This category excludes Kings who ruled over Israelite descendants that reigned after Israel's destruction.
