Biography

Cornelius was a Roman Centurion, leading a hundred men in the Italian Regiment.[1] Cornelius was very devout Christian, and was very generous and kind to the needy.[2] One day he received a vision from an Angel of God, commanding him to bring a man named Simon Peter, who lived in Joppa. After this Cornelius summoned two servants and a soldier and sent them to retrieve Peter.[3]

Peter as well received a vision from God and was prompted to go with the men (sent from Cornelius) awaiting him.[4] The next day Peter traveled with the men, arriving at Cornelius's house, who had gathered guest for Peter's arrival.[5] As Peter arrived Cornelius bowed in respect, leaving Peter to reply he was only a human being.[6] Then Cornelius and Peter discussed, their visions and their beliefs of Jesus and God.[7]
