Elisheba (/əˈlɪʃɪbə/; Hebrew: אֱלִישֶׁבַע, romanized: ’Ělīšeḇa‘), was the daughter of Amminadab, sister of Nahshon and wife to Aaron the High Priest.

Early Life[]
Elisheba was born in Egypt to Amminadab around the time of Moses' birth. She was the sister to Nahshon[1]. She was probably set to be engaged to Aaron and married prior to the Exodus[1].
Family[]
Likely during or shortly before the Exodus happened she bore Aaron, 4 sons, Nadab and Abihu the firstborns, then Eleazar and Ithamar who were all ordained for priesthood[2]. Since they were priests they might have brought a good impact to her, and could have been of notable righteousness.
Etymology[]
The Hebrew name is composed of two parts; in one interpretation, "Eli" means "my God" and "sheba" means "oath". The name Eli-sheba can thus be translated as "God is (my) oath".
