Reumah was Nahor's concubine. Reumah's children were: Tebah, Gaham, Thahash, and Maacah. These were half-brothers to Rebekah, who would marry Isaac.

Abraham learned of additional children being born to his brother soon before his wife Sarah died. He would soon send his servant back to the house of Bethuel, Abraham's brother.

Reumah is a transliteration of the Hebrew word ראומה, meaning "elevated" (R'eUMaH, related to the word R'aM, in Abram's name). That a concubine had a name like this "Elevated" may mean she was chosen especially by Nahor to increase his family.

Reumah ("Elevated") was probably a slave born in the house of Bethulah. When she became the concubine to Nahor, she was likely given the name Reumah, an feminine form of the name Ram (or Aram). She would bare four sons to Nahor in his old age. Of these sons, one may have been the founder of a tribe of some stature: the Maachathites.
